This exhibition explores the traces of humanity, traced through lines. Sonia Roseval reveals the lines of human existence; Won Ch. Kimetarx unveils the lines of things.

Gathered in a shared space, their trajectories intertwine: lines born from human life and the life of things unfold here and come to meet the viewer. Encounters—between human and human, between human and thing, between thing and thing—leave traces. Each movement toward encounter, each contact, each intersection inscribes itself like a line. All these lines bear a trace.

It is this trace that the two artists explore, each from their own perspective. Sonia Roseval probes the traces between humanity and the soul; Won Ch. Kimetarx investigates the traces between humanity and things. Together, their works pose the same question in two forms: what traces are formed between the soul, humanity, and things, through lines of encounter?

SONIA ROSEVAL

Sonia Indelicato Roseval is a Montreal-based visual artist whose freehand ink drawings emerge from a meditative process of repetition, attention, and presence. Working with ink on 300 lb archival Arches watercolor paper, Sonia intuitively composes complex works that reveal organic structures and subtle emotional resonance.

Her ongoing series, *Connections*, demonstrates a profound interest in the invisible threads that connect beings, time, and space. These works are not planned in advance: they develop naturally, over hours of drawing that become a visible trace of consciousness in motion.

Sonia exhibits internationally, with recent and upcoming exhibitions in South Korea, Italy, and North America. Her works are part of private and institutional collections, including the Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, DC) and the National Assembly of Quebec.
Each drawing is for her an act of silent devotion, a moment of calm translated into form.

WOn ch. Kimetarx

Won Ch. Kimetarx is a Canadian artist and writer of Korean descent. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Strasbourg (2000) and a Master of History degree from Marc Bloch University (2003) in France. He completed doctoral coursework in Fine Arts at the Université du Québec à Montréal (2025). He is also a licensed architect in France and Canada.

Kimetarx's artistic work can be metaphorically described as a "Clearing". In this whimsical artistic clearing, encountered while walking through the forest of architecture, architectural elements and artistic inspiration merge into a newly imagined narrative.

He seeks a new artistic practice for architecture, an alternative to architectural creation centered on space. His works are not simple paintings, but images that serve as illustrations of a narrative or diagrams of an idea.

To give substance to these images, Kimetarx embodies in his artistic practice, through speculation, the theoretical, narrative and pictorial elements of visionary architecture, narrative architecture and paper architecture.

Note: I have kept "Clairière" with the capital letter and quotation marks, since the term functions as a concept specific to his approach. "Architecture de papier" is indeed the established French term for paper architecture.
