ABOUT THE EVENT
Opening Night
Archaeology of the Gaze
Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m.
Galerie Éclats is pleased to invite you to the opening reception of Archaeology of the Gaze, an exhibition by Bertrand Licart presented from September 10 to October 10, 2026.
The works presented in the exhibition emerge from a slow excavation, an inner archaeology in which stone becomes matter, memory, and perception all at once. Menhirs, stelae, asteroid fragments, sculpted cliffs, Shiva lingams... Humanity has always projected onto rock a presence that goes beyond the material’s simple, tangible nature. Stone passes through civilizations like a silent core around which beliefs, fears, and attempts to understand the world and the universe revolve.
Bertrand Licart’s work is part of this quest, at the crossroads of introspection and active contemplation.
