Galerie Éclats 521 Contemporary Art
Galerie ÉCLATS 521 presents Odyssey, a new exhibition by artist Hélène Goulet. Through her paintings, the artist pursues a pictorial exploration that intersects intimate memory, interior landscapes, and fragments of travel. Each work becomes a stopping point, a journey that oscillates between figuration and abstraction, inviting the gaze to lose itself and then find itself again.
With Odyssey, Hélène Goulet offers us a sensitive journey into a universe where color, material, and light intertwine to create narratives that are both personal and universal.
Galerie ÉCLATS 521 is pleased to present Odyssey, a solo exhibition by Hélène Goulet, a Montreal artist whose pictorial work is part of an ongoing exploration of memory, landscape, and the intimate resonance of forms.
For several years, Hélène Goulet has been building a body of work that eludes rigid categories. Her paintings oscillate between figuration and abstraction, multiplying zones of transition and ambiguity, as if the viewer's eye were always in motion, searching for an unstable balance. Her practice draws on personal experiences, real or imagined journeys, and what lingers in memory when a place or encounter becomes an inner imprint.
With Odyssey, the artist invites us on a journey. The canvases evoke fragmented landscapes, floating horizons, shores that seem to slip away while simultaneously calling us to join them. Each work becomes both a territory and a stopping place, a temporary reference point in a sensitive cartography where matter and light open up multiple horizons. Color acts as a vector of movement, a vital flow that circulates memory and emotions.
The exhibition does not offer a linear narrative, but rather a series of fragments, stopovers, and passages. It reflects the idea that every odyssey is simultaneously a departure, a loss, and a discovery. Hélène Goulet's works invite an inner navigation where the viewer projects their own memories and emotions. In this sense, Odyssey is not only the artist's journey, but also that of each of us, a meditation on what inhabits us and connects us.
Through this new series, Hélène Goulet continues an exploration where painting becomes a language of wandering and belonging, celebrating the fragility and beauty of the human experience.
